Owen's feet got cold on a walk the other day. He found this fact to be quite amusing.

Rice Cereal
Owen has taken nicely to eating solid foods -- which up until now has been iron-fortified rice cereal. He opens his mouth right when he sees the spoon and gets frustrated if it isn't in his mouth within 2 seconds. And when he sees us eating, he studies us and seems to know he's being left out of something.
He likes to get his hands involved, which isn't very helpful. Here you can see me trying to fend off Owen's hands while getting the spoon into his mouth.
Sometimes Owen wins the hands battle...
He'll be 6 months on Saturday and will then be officially cleared (by the American Academy of Pediatrics) to start in on some new solid foods -- like bananas, oatmeal and avocado.

Bumbo!
I'd never heard of a Bumbo before, but Paul found one on craigslist so we're trying it out. Basically it props Owen up so he can sit since he can't quite do it by himself, which is apparently very frustrating.
I discovered this morning that Bumbo + cats = entertained baby.

Shake That Thang!
Paul & Owen have discovered the "Old School Funk" station on DirectTV. I'm pretty sure this is what they do all day, every day, cuz man!, check out those dance moves!

If You Are What What You Eat...
...then Owen is part book today. He's snacking on one of the "Indestructibles" books. And they are designed to be just that. They really can't be puntured or torn with the amount of force a baby can apply. And they're waterproof, so they can be cleaned once they're sufficiently gnawed upon.
These came as a "welcome baby" gift from my friend (and former co-worker/manager) Maureen. What a great idea. And what a great gift.

Getting so big!
Owen can't quite sit yet, but he sure wants to. We started using the booster seat as a play area, which he is really digging.
